Sales Forecasting Machine Learning Model

About Role

Build a forecasting model that estimates future sales from historical transaction data and agreed business factors. The goal is not only to produce predictions but also to communicate model limitations, error ranges, and the variables that influence results so the output can support practical planning decisions. The successful freelancer will be expected to work independently, share progress at agreed checkpoints, and raise questions early when a requirement needs clarification. All submitted work should be original, well organized, and ready for practical use after reasonable review.

Requirements

• Review data quality, seasonality, missing values, and business definitions.
• Prepare a reproducible data-preparation and training pipeline.
• Compare suitable baseline and machine-learning approaches.
• Evaluate accuracy using time-aware validation.
• Provide visual forecast outputs and an explanation of assumptions.
• Deliver code, documentation, and a handover session.
