Prompt Engineering for Internal Knowledge Assistant

About Role

Improve the instructions, evaluation process, and response style of an internal AI assistant. The assistant is used by staff to find company information and draft routine responses. We need a structured prompt system that produces consistent answers, cites the correct internal source when available, and avoids inventing information. The successful freelancer will be expected to work independently, share progress at agreed checkpoints, and raise questions early when a requirement needs clarification. All submitted work should be original, well organized, and ready for practical use after reasonable review.

Requirements

• Review current prompts, sample conversations, and failure cases.
• Create a clear system instruction and reusable task templates.
• Define response rules for uncertainty, privacy, and escalation.
• Prepare a test set covering common and difficult questions.
• Evaluate changes using a simple quality scorecard.
• Deliver prompt documentation that non-technical staff can maintain.
