WordPress Security Hardening and Maintenance

About Role

Secure and stabilize a WordPress website through a practical maintenance setup. The project will focus on updates, backups, access control, malware checks, configuration review, and monitoring. The freelancer should explain risks and avoid installing unnecessary plugins that create new maintenance problems. The successful freelancer will be expected to work independently, share progress at agreed checkpoints, and raise questions early when a requirement needs clarification. All submitted work should be original, well organized, and ready for practical use after reasonable review.

Requirements

• Audit users, plugins, themes, versions, and current security settings.
• Configure reliable backups and verify a restore procedure.
• Apply appropriate hardening to login, file, and administrative access.
• Check for malware or suspicious changes within the agreed scope.
• Set up update and monitoring recommendations.
• Provide a maintenance checklist and incident-response guidance.
